Hard water is expensive in a home. In a business it is expensive every hour the doors are open: scale on the dish machine's heating element, cloudy glassware back on the table, an ice machine that needs descaling again, a water heater in the laundry room that dies years early. For a hotel or a rental compound on Lake Travis, it is stiff towels and guests who notice. For a farm or a ranch headquarters on a Trinity well, it is hardness, iron and sulfur in the same supply, at flow rates no residential softener was designed for. Absolute Water Solutions has installed water treatment for both residential and commercial customers since 2003, and for the commercial side we carry WaterCare's commercial product line, CustomCare®.
What CustomCare covers
CustomCare, Powered by WaterCare, is the line we draw on when a job is bigger than a house. It includes commercial softening, conditioning, filtration and drinking water systems for almost any application: the softener that protects a restaurant's dish machine and steamers, the filtration stage that takes chloramine taste out of a coffee shop's water, the drinking water system that puts clean water in the glass at the table, and the conditioning system a ranch needs when the well carries iron and sulfur along with hardness. Hotels, casinos and restaurants are the applications the line was built around; around Spicewood, add wedding venues, rental compounds and the large households that run like small hotels every weekend.
CareSoft Pro: the light-commercial softener
The most common commercial request is simply a softener that can keep up. WaterCare's CareSoft Pro softeners are built to handle the highest flow rates and connect to wider plumbing, so more treated water is available at any given time. Businesses, farms and large families draw more water than the average home, and often all at once.
If a standard residential unit is running out of soft water before the day does, the CareSoft Pro 1.25-inch water softener is the model we bring up. It is a light-commercial softener, sized for a business or a big household rather than a plant, and it installs on the same test-first basis as everything we sell. Our water softener page covers the hardness chemistry and the Texas rule that a softener on a septic system must regenerate on demand, which applies to a venue or a farmhouse on septic just as it does to a home.
Hill Country water at commercial scale
The reason we test before we size is that no two supplies along our route are alike. Austin Water lime-softens its lake water to a moderate hardness but adds chloramine, which standard carbon handles poorly. Lakeway, Cedar Park and Leander districts deliver harder water, close to 11 grains per gallon, straight from the lake. West of the lake, Ellenburger and Trinity wells can run far higher, and Blanco County well surveys have found iron above the staining threshold in nearly half of samples. A restaurant in Bee Cave, a hotel in Horseshoe Bay and a ranch outside Johnson City each need a different train.
For a commercial job we measure two things a homeowner rarely thinks about: the hardness and contaminants in the supply, and the peak flow the building actually pulls. The first sets the media and the regeneration schedule. The second sets the valve size and the plumbing connection. A softener that is right on hardness but wrong on flow lets hard water break through at the busiest hour of the day.
Filtration, conditioning and drinking water
Many commercial sites need more than softening. Sediment from a well or a lake intake, chlorine or chloramine taste, iron and sulfur staining, and the drinking water at the point of service are each their own stage. On a Lake Travis property pumping raw lake water, the filtration and disinfection stages come before anything else; our surface water treatment page walks through that train. For a whole-building system on utility or well water, the whole-house water filtration page explains how the stages are ordered and sized. The commercial version is the same logic on larger plumbing.
How a commercial job goes
We visit during business hours, test the supply, ask what the building draws at its peak, and write an estimate that names each stage and what it is there to do. Installation is by our own crews, tied into the building's plumbing to code, and commissioned with the water running. You leave with a written service schedule matched to the load, not a generic calendar. Absolute Water Solutions is TCEQ-licensed (license WT001370), insured, and based in Spicewood.
If your business, farm or big household has outgrown its water system, call (512) 587-8188 or request a free estimate. We test the water first, then size the system to the water and the demand.
